It’s all in the Layering

Girl in layering

Do you ever have a shirt or dress that you love, but you don’t know how to style it other than wearing it by itself? I like to see how many ways that I can style an item. Every time I find a new way to wear one of my favorite pieces, I fall back in love with it.

The easiest item to start trying out different layering techniques is with a button-down shirt. There are so many different options that you can use to layer a button down. You can add a sweater, a vest or jacket, or even a dress. The options are endless! See how I have styled a button down below.

Another easy item to layer is a sweater over a dress. By doing this, you will add a dimension to a dress. The easiest way is to tie it up in a knot as I did here.

The key to layering is to keep it simple and not too many layers. You don’t want to go overboard. It will only chop your body up more with each layer you add. You want each layer to complement your body while keeping your look interesting.

You don’t always have to layer your clothes. This could be as easy as layering jewelry or accessories by adding a hat, scarf, boot socks, hair tie, or stacking jewelry.

Layering is an easy way to make any look fit your personality and lifestyle. The key to remember is to have fun and don’t be afraid to layer! Shop some of my favorite layering pieces below!
