Jeans, jeans, jeans. I have a love-hate relationship with jeans. Some days I love them, and they are super comfy. However, the next day I could hate them because they are super tight and uncomfortable. Jeans can be difficult to shop for. We each have different body shapes and a cut that works for me might not work for you. It can also depend on the brand on how much they breathe, stretch and fade. I owned a quite a few different cuts of jeans over the years. So, I thought that I would share my favorite cut of jeans, and how I have styled them.
Some of my favorite brands of jeans to wear are American Eagle, Old Navy, and Target’s Wild Fable. These three brands seem to work best for my body shape. Plus, they aren’t super expensive that will break the bank. For me, I carry a lot of my weight in my belly, especially the lower part under my belly button. My legs are pretty slim, and my butt is flat. For me, I need jeans that provide room for the belly while still slimming on the legs.
The first cut of jeans that I am sharing is the one that I probably wear the most, high-waisted skinny jeans. The high cut of the waist provides support for my belly, and a slim leg provides the tailoring that I need. I do a mixture of short and longer lengths, so that I can roll the bottom up to wear with booties. These are also great for tucking in boots and wearing flats.
My next favorite cut of jeans that I love are mom jeans. These provide the high-waist that I need for support and the extra room for my belly but are also tailored at the legs. I really love a good pair of distressed mom jeans. I wear these mostly with my Keds.
I do also own some boot cut jeans and boyfriend jeans. I don’t wear these as much, because I just prefer the other two cuts more. However, if I want a baggy pant the boyfriend style is the way to go. If I wanted something looser on the leg. I will go with my boot cuts. I like to wear those when I am wearing tennis shoes.
