I have always been talk radio listener. I have always gravitated to talk radio over music stations. There is something about thought provoking conversation that has still interest me. Maybe it comes from growing up around opinioned women my whole life. My favorite talk radio show to listen to growing up was and is Rick and Bubba. If you drive anywhere in the south more than likely, you have heard their radio show. As podcast have become more and more popular in recent years, I have gravitated more to these over the years.
Whether you are listening while working, driving in the car, or working out, podcast is a great way to stay connected to politics, pop culture, learn about something new, or listen to an untold story. I recently have come across several podcasts that I thought that I would share. If you are a first time or expert listener, I promise you will enjoy each one of these podcasts.
My favorite podcast hands down have to be Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert Podcast.
This podcast is insightful, funny, thought-provoking, and charming. Dax’s ease behind the mic interviewing people, and his love for his co-anchor Monica is so sweet. His guests feel comfortable and open up in ways that they usually wouldn’t. I love that he doesn’t just interview other celebrities but talks to experts about their fields too! The show is witty and endearing. A must listen.
Other interview style podcast that I love include:
The Sunday Sit Down with Willie Giest*
NBC’s “Sunday TODAY with Willie Geist” provides sharp, conversational coverage of the day’s news, along with in-depth profiles of the people and ideas shaping our culture. In his “Sunday Sit Downs,” Geist chats with some of the biggest names in news and pop culture, from actors and musicians to presidents and CEOs, about the stories behind their success. This podcast features the full, unedited versions of those conversations for an even more in-depth look at the names in the headlines.
Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum*
Is my new podcast, recorded inside of my home. Listen as I invite celebrities, athletes, musicians, or anyone I find interesting to sit next to me on the couch, while I probe them for the most interesting stories they have. This will be raunchy, funny, raw, and uncomfortable – but I promise, it’ll be fun for everyone.
Phil in the Blanks with Dr. Phil*
“Phil in the Blanks” is a brand-new podcast hosted by Dr. Phil that will feature in-depth interviews with guests from all disciplines from entertainment to medicine and more

If you are into true crime stories, you will love the following podcasts.
Dr. Death by Wondery*
We’re at our most vulnerable when we go to our doctors. We trust the person at the other end of that scalpel. We trust the hospital. We trust the system. Dr. Christopher Duntsch was a neurosurgeon who radiated confidence. He claimed he was the best in Dallas. If you had back pain and had tried everything else, Dr. Duntsch could give you the spine surgery that would take your pain away. But soon his patients started to experience complications. And all they had to protect them was a system ill-equipped to stop the madness. From Wondery, the network behind the hit podcast Dirty John, DR. DEATH is about a medical system that failed to protect these patients at every possible turn. Reported and hosted by Laura Beil.
Dirty John is a true crime podcast based on the life of John Meehan, a con artist, and sociopath. The podcast is hosted by Christopher Goffard and was created by Wondery and the Los Angeles Times.
The Drop Out*
Money. Romance. Tragedy. Deception. The story of Elizabeth Holmes and Theranos is an unbelievable tale of ambition and fame gone terribly wrong. How did the world’s youngest self-made female billionaire lose it all in the blink of an eye? How did the woman once heralded as “the next Steve Jobs” find herself facing criminal charges — to which she pleaded not guilty — and up to 20 years in jail? How did her technology, meant to revolutionize healthcare, potentially put millions of patients at risk? And how did so many smart people get it so wrong along the way? ABC News chief business, technology and economics correspondent Rebecca Jarvis, along with producers Taylor Dunn and Victoria Thompson, take listeners on a journey that includes a three-year-long investigation. You’ll hear exclusive interviews with former employees, investors, and patients, and for the first-time, the never-before-aired deposition testimony of Elizabeth Holmes, and those at the center of this story.
Over my Dead Body by Wondery*
We all have limits. And some people who are pushed beyond those limits will do unspeakable things. In “Tally,” the first season of OVER MY DEAD BODY, Dan and Wendi are two good-looking attorneys whose wedding is featured in the New York Times. But when this “perfect” couple falls apart, it leads to a bad breakup, a worse divorce, and a murder case involving a menagerie of high-priced lawyers and unexpected co-conspirators. From Wondery, the team that brought you “Dirty John” and “Dr. Death,” “Tally” is a story that says as much about love and marriage as it does about justice, revenge, and the lengths some people will go to get what they want. Hosted by Matthew Shaer
Up and Vanished*
